l 研究興趣

本實驗室研究的重心致力於臨床多重抗藥性菌株之抗藥機制的探討。主要研究的菌株為 Stenotrophomonas maltophilia,其為一基因型高度分歧 (high genetic diversity)的菌種。因此菌廣泛存在環境中,所以對於免疫能力低下之病人,極易從環境中受到感染。此菌因其染色體上已有多種與抗藥性有關之抗藥基因; 所以,在臨床治療上較為棘手。 
  研究的面向涵蓋:

1.  S. maltophilia  菌株中兩個主要與 beta-lactams 型抗藥性有關的基因 L1 及 L2 基因進行一系列的探討。包括 L1及 L2 基因及其產物特性分析、L1及 L2 基因表現之調控機制、新的抗菌標的物之開發等。

2.  針對S. maltophilia  菌株中的 penicillin binding proteins及lytic transglycosylases進行一系列的探討。欲釐清 penicillin binding proteins 及lytic transglycosylases對細菌型態、beta-lactamase 基因之誘發、生理功能及抗生素抗性的影響。

3.  針對S. maltophilia  菌株中的 mutidrug efflux pump systems進行一系列的探討。欲釐清 efflux pump systems之表現、調控及其對細菌生理與抗藥性之意義。

4.  探討S. maltophilia  對膜壓力及氧化壓力的反應機制。 

5.  探討S. maltophilia 外膜蛋白 (outer membrane proteins) 之表現及其對細菌生理功能及抗生素抗性的影響。
